It’s that time of year again!

The Annual Bridal Open House at Stanley’s Farm is taking place THIS Saturday, January 23rd & Sunday, January 24th in the Maples Hall, 10am-3pm.

All current Stanley’s brides and those who are thinking of Stanley’s are invited to come out and visit! Take a tour of their venues, chat with friendly staff and meet some of their favourite vendors.

There will also be fabulous door prizes donated by the vendors at the show. Door prizes are limited to couples that have preregistered for the show.

Three Tips for Wedding Show Season

“Wedding Show” season has begun! If you are getting married this year or next, now is a great time to start shopping around and locking down your favourite vendors for your wedding date!  Many brides are heading out to local wedding shows to choose venues for their 2016 weddings, and to meet other wedding suppliers for the 2015 weddings.

Sometimes attending a wedding show can be a bit overwhelming so here are three tips to handle things with ease:

1. Plan out which types of vendors you are looking to speak to. Get a map and plan your movements.

2. If you plan to enter some draws, many brides will bring pre-printed sticker-labels with their name, address, email and phone number on them. Don’t forget to add your wedding date! This will save you from stopping at every entry box to fill out tedious/repetitive information. Likely you will be asked to sign up for their newsletter if you enter their draw.

3. Bring backup! Bring your mom, sister and bridesmaids! There will be a lot of information and your “loot” bag will get full and heavy fast! Take notes (or have your team take notes for you) and be sure to schedule a few rest and snack breaks.

Most of all, follow up with your favourite vendors after the show, and don’t forget to use Google so you can also find those who you didn’t have a chance to speak to.

Support Local This Christmas: Within The Grain

What to buy for a guy and his man cave? How about a beautiful, hand-crafted wooden bowl that I dubbed “The Man’s Popcorn Bowl”? I know any husband would love it! Within the Grain also creates smaller keepsake items, like the little box that’s pictured below. This would be perfect as a ring box for a proposal or a wedding ceremony.

Sneak Peek: Megan & Jesse

Wedding WednesdaysThe lovely Megan and Jesse got married recently and I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding. We had already done an engagement shoot together so these two were complete pros in front of the camera!

They chose the Mill Street Brew Pub as their venue (excellent choice!), and we had a lot of fun getting some great shots of them around the building.

Megan went for a unique, custom-made dress in a lovely shade of blue that really set off her gorgeous hair colour, I’m jealous! And how cute are those mini dinosaurs peeking out of the centrepieces (bottom pic)?!

Congratulations again!
