Thank you everyone for attending the 3rd annual Halloween fundraiser for CHEO. We are proud to have raised over $3000 during these past 3 events. We are currently working on the pictures of your little prince's and princess's. They are available for a FREE download off our gallery.
As most of you may know CHEO holds a special place in our family. Below is a picture of our healthy and rambunctious baby Parker. Without the vast knowledge and quick reactions of the staff at the hospital he most certainly would not be with us today.

....a 180-year-old log building called Grange de la Gatineau. Laura and Shawn tied the knot on a beautiful spring day at one of the most intimate locations imaginable. I was fortunate to be a part of it! Check out her awesome 50's style wedding dress, not a typical white princess gown, but that doesn't mean that Laura didn't feel like a princess on this special day!

... who can tell?
So you may have heard or seen the photo by now, circulating around the world wide web, it's the one of our very own Josie in the City, from the New Hot 899, posing in her "meat-kini" the way that one would see Lady Gaga doing on the cover of Japan Vogue.
So as the story goes, Josie had a baby (see blog details here), became her tiny-self again, and decided to compete with the infamous Lady Gaga, to see who would look "Hotter" in meat. I vote Josie!!
Here's the photo that I took of Josie in her lovely, (and sticky) meat-kini:
Enjoy!

We have been working hard to get everything ready for our new portrait studio located in the Glebe, and the time has finally come! Tripp Photography is now located in a spacious studio at 901 Bank Street above the ever growing and popular Running Room.
Cristie Vito, from Stellar Events says, "Got a sneak peak at Tripp Photography's new studio in the Glebe yesterday and it is unbelievable! Unlike any other studio I have seen in Ottawa with separate rooms setup for different types of photo sessions and a huge event space. Congrats again Christine Tripp, your new studio is beautiful!!!"
Thank you Cristie for your positive feedback! I look forward to showing all of you around the new space.

July 11th we are hosting a magazine viewing party, to show off the new issue of the Ottawa Wedding Magazine, who chose one of our photos as this issue's cover photo. Free magazines will be available, while supplies last!
I look forward to showing you around the new studio!

Ottawa Engagement Photography
Today I was fortunate to head to downtown Ottawa for an engagement session with Kristen & Jason. Funny thing was that Kristen went to the same high school as me, in Timmins! However since she's a few years younger, we'd actually never until she qualified for the New Hot 899's Married in 23hrs Contest. Unfortunately they didn't win the contest, but at least they were able to go out for this awesome engagement shoot with me!! It was a lot of fun.
Here's a sneak peek from their session!

Now let's hope they bring me to Manitoulin Island for their wedding day next year!! (hint, hint)

Had to share this awesome maternity shoot that I did at my studio. (And nope, the clouds were not added.. they are real)
Too much fun!! To read more about the experience from the mom-to-be, check out Josie and the Baby.

As a Hot 899 Sponsor, I can not enter any contests, however I still manage to get tons of perks! This Sunday was no exception. I participated in the Biggest, Beautiful Baby shower along with 40 pregnant women, 40 of their guests (some of which were pregnant) and several fabulous speakers... some of which were ALSO pregnant... boy there were a lot of babies being grown there!

Josie and Race did an awesome job entertaining
everyone along with the guest speakers, who included Catherine Marion from The Mom Show. She would do well as a stand up comedian, discussing "what to expect... the missing chapters". Anyone having twins needs to learn from Catherine!
Another perk was the beautiful setting at Le Nordik Nature Spa. They were offering hand massages to the moms-to-be and served us a wonderful light lunch.
Then there's my new friend Roger Deveau, from T-Zone Vibrations! I had a chance to try out one of their machines, and to my surprise it was awesome! I really felt like I'd done an hour workout in about 10 minutes! I also love the massage settings. :)
Here are more photos from the event:

Looking forward to photographing all the "Hotties" out there!
As many of you know, I am often introduced as "the Facebook Queen". As of today, I have over 800 facebook friends, which include many old high school friends, current and past clients, other photographers and several networking friends. I love what facebook has done for our society! Gone are the days of sending a letter to an old high school friend and having it returned "MOVED". On facebook I also have several fan pages and one big group page! The group contains over 800 members, however I am noticing that fan pages are becoming more popular then groups. So today I started an Official Tripp Photography Fan-Page. Please come and check it out, and become my latest fan!

Today is the official "reveal" of Heart Gallery Portraits to the Children and Youth whom I photographed. They will be given an 8x10 canvas of their portrait, provided by Pixel2Canvas. Then tomorrow (Thurs) the Official and Formal Launch of The Canada Heart Gallery hosted by Senator Jim Munson, at Parliament Hill. (It's not too late to RSVP, sarah@adoption.ca)
Here's a sneak peek of some of the images I took. Due to privacy issues, you can only view their full profiles and images on the official Heart Gallery of Canada website (after the launch tomorrow)
Hey, I'm Laura!

I can't believe I'm finally learning about what I want to pursue in my future. This is a new chapter in my life and I'm thrilled to be learning from Christine. I am currently finishing my high school years at St. Peter Catholic High School and will hopefully be attending either Sheridan College or Algonquin College for photography next year. Photography is my passion. I see photography as being one of the parts of my life that will last forever. A picture is worth a million words and being able to take part of the process of creating memories for others makes me very happy. Knowing that Christine is rated one of the top photographers in Ottawa reassures me that I am learning from one of the best. I learn more and more every single day. This field is always busy and keeps you on your toes. That's the type of job I want to have. I don't want to be sitting in a desk all day and doing the same things over and over again each day. I'm still not too sure what type of pictures I want to take but I love taking photos of people. Weddings look like they would be a lot of fun so that is something in which I would like to use my skills in the near future. So far this co-op experience has been more than I ever imagined. I'm going to take in each day separately and learn from everything Christine teaches me. Like I said, this is a new chapter in my life and I can't wait for it to expand into something bigger!
Laura :)

Baby Liam

On this sunny Christmas Eve, I had the pleasure of capturing some precious moments of a 3 week old baby Liam. Although sleeping was the last thing on his mind, with some good timing and patience, I managed to make some beautiful images of Cecilia and John's new baby boy.
Here are a couple of shots from today. Have a very Merry Christmas and hope to see all of you in the New Year!

…just because!
What better way to spend an overcast, October Saturday, than with 300+ other women, sharing passions, businesses, hobbies and a common desire to empower themselves…just because!
It was my intention to attend this event, but at the last minute I had to be available to cover for a fellow photographer who was very pregnant. None the less, Tripp Photography did donate a complimentary portrait session as an auction item. My friend and colleague, Cristie Vito, of Stellar Events, was part of the phenomenal group of women who volunteered their time to make the annual You Deserve It event a huge success!
What began in 2004 as an east-end women’s show, has turned into an annual “women’s day”…for no other reason than because we deserve it. Originated by women, for women, the You Deserve It event supports local…you guessed it… women.
Business professionals showcase their products and services in the “marketplace”, as well as donating a prize for the Auction. Many share their skills and experience, to give back to other women, by hosting workshops and seminars. Keynote speakers inspire and empower – something that we can never have enough of! All participants have the opportunity to expand their horizons, shop and mingle with like minded peers.
Included is a delicious lunch, with plenty of desserts, and entertainment for your dining pleasure. My friend, Elizabeth Hale of Business Impressions, thoroughly enjoyed the 70’s theme, and managed to avoid being pulled up onto the stage to share in the performance of “Car Wash”.
The afternoon wrapped with a fashion show and a vast assortment of prizes being drawn. I’ll be sure to be in attendance for next years event…mark your calendars ladies…Saturday, October 23, 2010. More information is available at www.youdeserveit.ca.
As a business person, I try to maximize my networking opportunities. In a world that has come to rely on peer recommendations for purchasing suggestions, it’s important for me to get to know my fellow professionals (and vice versa). That is one of the reasons I joined Business Network International (BNI).
Not only was I welcomed into the Luncheon Connextion chapter with open arms, but I have since learned about valuable services, developed trust and confidence in a wealth of professionals, and can now recommend these business owners with pride.
This afternoon we held our biannual Open House, to introduce other business owners to an effective referral marketing organization. With a presentation from the BNI Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec Director, Denis Brison, we developed an appreciation for being part of a community of like minded professionals who are interested, not only in building their own business through referrals, but in supporting their team mates to achieve the same.
All members are encouraged to bring guests to the Open House. I was honoured to be joined by Julie Daoust, a consultant with Health Awareness Naturally and Veronica Martyn, a videographer with Vermillion Productions. They had the opportunity to network with 40+ professionals who were eager to learn about their business endeavours.
If you are interested in learning more about referral network marketing and/or would like to visit our chapter as my guest, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We meet on Wednesday afternoons, from 11:30 am – 1 pm at the Macie’s Best Western (Carling and Merivale).
